14-Year-Old Marion Boy Shot In Chest Tuesday

MARION,Indiana – Gunfire erupted in the 2100 block of North Fairfield Drive in Marion just before 2pm yesterday afternoon. An unidentified 14-year-old was shot in the chest during the exchange and the apparent shooter was also injured and ended up in the hospital along with the 14 year old.

Police say the gunfire erupted after a gun deal went wrong. The 14-year-old’s 16-year-old brother was also involved. Later in the afternoon, police caught up with 22-year-old Jamar Barnett at a hospital who sustained a gunshot wound in his shoulder during the incident. The 14 year old was life-flighted to a hospital in Fort Wayne. Police continue to sort out the details.
