David Paul Jacks, 83, Fort Wayne, went to be with the Lord at 12:07 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017, at Parkview Randallia Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Gas City on May 19, 1934, to Dewey and Bertha (Toler) Jacks, David married Barbara Peterson, who preceded him in death. On June 9, 1973, David married Kathleen McKinney Fisher, and she survives.
David was a vendor with Hartz Mountain until his retirement. He continued to work part-time, however, during his retirement at Marsh Supermarkets in Marion (North location). He attended Faith Baptist Church in Fort Wayne.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathleen; children, Teena (Kim) Holloway, Fort Wayne, David (Heather) Jacks, Muncie, Dewey Jacks, Bluffton, Bill (Jazmid) Jacks, West Des Moines, Iowa, Kelli (Eric) Kessler, Coatesville, Pennsylvania, Mark (Dora) Fisher, North Salt Lake City, Utah, and Andrew Fisher, Prague, Czech Republic; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were brothers, Philip Eugene Jacks and Bill Jacks, and sisters, Betty Reynolds and Dianna Murphy.
The family will have a memorial visitation from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A memorial service for David will begin at 11 a.m. with Dr. Steve Roper officiating.
