WABASH, Ind. – The Honeywell Center will celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with its annual Holiday Open House beginning at 6 p.m. on Mon., Nov. 14. The public is invited to come and see the spectacular holiday decorations up close and tour the building to see how the cultural arts center has been transformed into a festive holiday fantasy. Sponsorship for the decorations is provided by Crossroads Bank.

Following a brief presentation at 6 p.m., the Vocal Impact Jr. Choir will perform, after which guests may tour the building to take in all of sights. Santa will be on hand to hear children’s Christmas wishes while parents are invited to take their own pictures, so remember your camera! Additional children’s activities will take place in the main lobby.

The Honeywell Center was decorated by a very talented group of volunteers who began working in early October. The volunteers have spent several hundreds of hours hanging garland, lights, bows, ornaments, arranging gossamer, ribbons and adornments, climbing up and down ladders, moving large boxes and bins; and have most likely suffered a few achy joints and sore muscles for all their hard work and effort. Now their work is finished and the Honeywell Center glimmers and sparkles with holiday cheer.

The Honeywell Foundation is fortunate, indeed, to have such faithful and dedicated people who obviously enjoy decorating. Many thanks and congratulations for a job well done goes to the Honeywell Foundation Holiday Décor Team:   Sheryl Bishop, Bobby Bishop, Jane Swanquist, Angie Knotts, Paula Dyer (lead decorator), Libby Moeller, Jackie Bible (lead decorator), Bruce Rovelstad (lead decorator), Angie DeLauter (lead decorator), Sarah Andrews, Richard Tucker (lead decorator), Donna Harmon, Diana Iden, Carol McVicker, Dan Swihart, Deanne Unger, Ann Bell, Melanie Baber, Claralou Martin (lead decorator), Max Martin, Suzanne Smith, Linda Ahlfeld, Orion Toepfer, Sally Robins, Marjorie Justice, Michael Weibel and Teri Christman.

Cookies and cocoa will be served in the lobby. Guests can also enjoy the Winter Street Banner Contest which will be on display in Clark Gallery. The Holiday Open House event is free and open to the public. For more information about this event, please call the Honeywell Center Box Office at (260) 563-1102.
