Lila Colleen Moore

Lila Colleen Moore, 82, Anderson, passed away at 9:58 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson. She was born in Marion on May 23, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Lester and Marguerite (Brubaker) Ruggles, Sr.. On November 1, 1952, Lila married Ray J. “Toby” Moore, and they shared over 61 years together before his passing on May 18, 2014.

A graduate of Marion High School, Lila worked in production control at Delco Remy and retired in 1987 after 32 years of service. After retirement, she enjoyed wintering in Punta Gorda, Florida. Some of her favorite hobbies included crafting, quilting, bowling, camping, and fishing. Her greatest memories were the times she spent with her family and friends. She was a member of Church of the Brethren in Marion.

Survivors include her children, Sharon Renee (Jeff) Fike, Port Charlotte, Florida, Greg (Cheryl) Moore, Nineveh, and Margie (Randy) DeHart, Columbia City; brother, James R. (Susan) Ruggles, Gold Canyon, Arizona; four grandchildren, Israel Carr, Heather Moore, Wesley Herche, and Jon Moore; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Ruth Sheppard, Gas City.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Lester Ruggles, Jr., and Billie Vern Ruggles, and her sister, Connie Shaw.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Lila’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Pastor Allen Kahler, from Bethel UCC in Beloit, Ohio, will be officiating. Burial will follow at Estates of Serenity.
