PERU, IN- Officer Keith Smith of the Peru Police Department recently received recognition for his outstanding efforts in enforcement of Operating While Intoxicated. Officer Smith, who is the current Operation Pull Over Coordinator for the Peru Police Department, received the award from the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute. Chief Mike Meeks said, “Officer Smith is one of our most aggressive officers when it comes to the enforcement and arrest of suspected intoxicated drivers. He does a great job of keeping our roadways safe.” The Peru Police Department has participated in Operation Pull Over since its inception in 1994.
