Wabash, IN- Visit Wabash County is thrilled to announce Erica Tyson as the official artisan for the 2024 Christmas Ornament. The limited-edition ornament can be purchased for $25 online at www.visitwabashcounty.com or in person at the Welcome Center (221 S Miami St, Wabash).
Tyson, a talented local artist from Wabash, has been selected for her exceptional creativity and dedication to capturing the essence of Wabash County’s colorful spirit.
Tyson is no stranger to the local art scene, having painted 24 murals in her career, with 17 of those murals being within public spaces in Wabash County. Her largest mural, River Waves, is a 400-foot-long mural on the south side of Wabash and was commissioned by the City of Wabash and Visit Wabash County in 2022. The mural features a bright orange sunset and rolling bright blue waves. The most prominent imagery is a larger-than-life Blue Heron, named River Wing, which is the inspiration behind the 2024 VIsit Wabash County Christmas Ornament.
The collectible Christmas ornament program has become an annual tradition cherished by residents and visitors alike since 2013. There are only 100 numbered ornaments available for sale.
“Each year the Christmas ornament showcases the incredible talent that Wabash County has to offer,” said Jennifer Long-Dillon, tourism manager at Visit Wabash County. “It’s not only a treasured keepsake for those who call Wabash County home but also a heartfelt gift for friends and family from afar.”
Tyson’s talent and passion make the 2024 Christmas ornament a true masterpiece commemorating the spirit of Wabash County.
