Kayvion Keller

Kayvion Keller, son of Kenneth Keller and Kayla Hayes, was born and passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, at Marion Health.  Although Kayvion did not take a breath in this life, he was already deeply loved by his family.

In addition to his parents, Kayvion is survived by his sister, Shealeigh Hayes; brothers, Kenneth Keller, Jr., and Jared Hayes; grandfather, Jerry (Paula) Hayes; grandmother, Merlana Keller; and a host of aunties, uncles, and cousins.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Rita Rae Rider

Rita Rae Rider, 58, lifelong resident of Sidney, Indiana, passed away April 13, 2024 at the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. Born October 26, 1965 in Warsaw, Rita was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Donnabelle (Hudson) Rider.

A graduate from Whitko High School class of 1984, Rita loved the simple things in life. She relished her time planting flowers and gardening around her home. Rita, an employee at Medartis, Inc, for many years, was a vibrant soul filled with love for sports, particularly IU Basketball, New York Yankees Baseball, and Notre Dame Football. She treasured her vacations in sunny New Smyrna Beach, Florida, reveling in the warmth with a toes-in-the-sand bliss. Her excursions weren’t complete without indulging in her favorite cuisine at Blackbeard’s Restaurant.

Family held a special place in Rita’s heart, as she enjoyed gathering for birthdays and holidays, whipping up delicious deviled eggs and macaroni and cheese for everyone to savor. She was a proud aunt and sister to her family.

The loving memory of Rita Rae Rider will be forever cherished by her brother, Ron (Ann) Rider, Columbia City; sisters, Rhonda (Tim) Swaidner, Roanoke and Rachel Rider, Warsaw; nieces and nephews, Logan (Jamie) Swaidner, Huntington, Tyler (Kylie Spangle) Swaidner, North Manchester, Mary (Ryan) Shelton, Warsaw, Monique East, Warsaw, and Courtney Creamer, Warsaw; great-nieces and nephews, Aubree, Liam, Hunter, Brycen, Jameson, Reagann, Kayleigh, Kolton, Dena, Pyrrha, Gwynevere Rose, and Adryan. Rita was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends may call Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Sidney Cemetery, State Road 13 and County Road 850 South, Sidney, Indiana.

For those who wish to honor the memory of Rita Rider, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.

Applications open for 2024 Wabash County Festivals Pageant

WABASH COUNTY, IN- The 2024 Wabash County Scholarship will take place on Friday, July 26th at the Eagles Theater in Downtown Wabash. Young women ages 17 through not yet 22 by the pageant date are eligible to participate. You must also be attending/attended a Wabash County high school and/or are currently living in Wabash County.

This pageant is a great opportunity for personal growth and to gain useful skills for the future. The pageant is NOT about winning the crown or scholarship – those are a bonus. The pageant is designed to help each young woman grow as a person.

Along with multiple fun events throughout the summer, the pageant day will consist of interviews, sportswear, and formal wear. The 2024 Queen & court will then appear at events during their year of reigning throughout the county.

Living Well of Wabash County announces Immunization Clinic

WABASH, IN- Living Well of Wabash County will be hosting an immunization clinic on Thursday, April 18th, 2024 at their Dallas Winchester Building located at 239 Bond Street in Wabash. The clinic will run from 3-6pm.

Walk-ins the day of the clinic are welcome but you must have parent/guardian consent if under the age of 18. Please upload or send the immunization records for the individual who is getting vaccinated. Please bring your insurance cards. They accept and bill all insurance (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid). There is no cost to those without insurance, except for the Shingles and adult RSV vaccines, as there is often a required co-pay.

All CDC recommended vaccines will be provided. They will consult the state immunization registry to assess the immunization needs of each individual. If you would like to refuse a specific vaccine, please contact the Indiana Immunization Coalition at least 48 hours prior to the event at clinic@vaccinateindiana.org
