Nancy L. Dooley, 86, of Marion, passed away at 1:04 pm on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in Marion. She was born in Grant County Indiana on Tuesday, March 8, 1938, to Ralph and Freda (Johnson) Dooley.
Nancy graduated from Sweetser High School in 1956. She worked as an Accounts Payable Clerk at Pierce Co of Avis Industrial Corp and was a faithful longtime member of Faith Harvest Church, formerly Mt. Olive UMC. She had previously worked as a bookkeeper for many years at Malleable Ironworks in Marion and Farm Bureau Co-op. Nancy was a voracious reader and had a parakeet when she was younger. She was born and lived her life on a farm west of Marion.
Survivors include her nephews, Clay (Cathy) Hazelwood of Greers Ferry, AR, Michael Hazelwood of Marion, Wade (Michelle) Hazelwood of Marion, Mark (Nicholas) Spurgeon of Indianapolis; niece, Marcey (Wayne) Stewart of Dayton, OH; great nieces, Kristy Garriott, Lisa Wadkins, Alicia Hazelwood, Samantha Stewart, Olivia Bromm; great nephews, Zachary Harper, Trevor Hazelwood, Kelsen Hazelwood, Zachary Stewart; as well as many great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Freda Dooley, and her sister, Alice Marian Hazelwood.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Nancy’s life will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at Estates of Serenity.
