Jimmie Gutierrez, 87, of Marion, passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Marion Health. He was born in Houston, Texas, on Monday, May 22, 1939, to Chris and Neoma (Cortez) Gutierrez. On November 11, 1967, he married the love of his life, Amelia Zamora.
Jimmie graduated from Sweetser High School and worked 40 years until his retirement at GenCorp. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, attending all the sporting events, or taking care of someone. Jimmie was always handy around the house and working on cars.
Survivors include daughter, Lisa Marie (Riley, Jr) Huddleston of Parker City, IN; sons, James Patrick Gutierrez of Atlanta, GA and Zachery (J.L.) Gutierrez of Orlando, FL; brothers, Chris Gutierrez of Berne, Leonard Gutierrez of Marion, and Albert Gutierrez of Sweetser; 5 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Neoma Gutierrez; and beloved wife, Amelia Zamora Gutierrez.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a private burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
