Grover Paul Weeks, 49, of Jonesboro, passed away at 5:19 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. He was born in Hayti, Missouri, on Friday, July 29, 1977, to Roger Weeks and Shirley (Williams) Douglas.
Grover attended Hayti High School and he later settled into the work of offline repair with American Woodmark in Gas City, Indiana. Outside of work, he passionately embraced a survivalist way of life. The outdoors was his true sanctuary, where he loved to hunt, fish, forage, and camp minimally with nothing but a sleeping bag on the bare earth.
Grover is survived by his daughters Julie Ann Cross, and Emily Holland; grandchildren Adina Ann Denise Cross, Zachary Tyler Wayne Cross; siblings, Tonja Nealey of Jonesboro, Shadale Wallace of Jonesboro, Roger Weeks of Hayti, MO, Shirley Brandenburg of Blytheville, AR; special friend, Rebecca Engle of Jonesboro; nieces, Kaylee Weeks, Eden Weeks, Ana Nicole, Kota Johnson; nephews, Christopher Hood, Tommy Hood, Patrick Manley, Derekis Johnson, John Andrew Schoolcraft, Jessie Wallace, Zachary Strickland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Weeks and Shirley Douglas.
At Grover’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
