Alice “Pauline” Davis Vest

Alice "Pauline" Davis Vest, 95, Fairmount, received her eternal reward on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at her home in Fairmount surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Harrisburg, Arkansas, on May 2, 1928, to Harry and Ruth (Sefers) Rice.

Pauline attended Harrisburg schools in Arkansas.  She was blessed to have been married twice in her lifetime.  On June 20, 1943, she married Lewis H. Davis, and he preceded her in death. She lived in Van Buren for 20 years then spent 20 years in Arkansas before moving back to Fairmount for another 20 years. In 1986, she married Gene Vest, and they were married for 20 years until his passing.

First and foremost in Alice's life was her relationship with her Heavenly Father.  As a follower of Christ, she truly lived out what she believed.  She loved the Lord, loved reading her Bible and journaling, as well as serving the Lord wherever and whenever she could.  She was a member of Westside Assembly of God.  The next greatest priority in her life was her family.  She enjoyed spending time with them as often as she could.  She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed!

Survivors include her children, Linda Starkey, Phillis (Larry) Gallaway, Stan (Debbie) Davis, Sharon (Steve) Gallaway, Greg Davis, and Shelia Slack; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Brenda (James) Rice.

In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Gary Davis; two grandchildren; and siblings, Harold Rice, Bobby Rice, and Betty Cole.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Pauline's life will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
