Andris Ellen Ross

Andris Ellen Ross, 80, of Roanoke, Indiana, formerly of rural Wabash County, Indiana, died at 8:43 am Sunday, September 15, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family.  She was born on August 3, 1944, in Huntington County, Indiana, to Fred and Lila (Bradford) Beghtel. Andris was a 1962 graduate of Andrews High School, and received her nursing degree from Ball State University in 1965. She married Robert Ronald Ross at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Huntington, Indiana on August 28, 1965. Andris was the administrator and Director of Nursing at Vernon Manor Children's Home in Wabash for 43 years, and also a registered nurse and the VP of operations at Medical Rehab Centers. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wabash and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke. Andris was a member of the Friends of St. Patrick in Lagro, volunteered for 85 Hope and was an advocate for CASA, both of Wabash. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities and entertaining and cooking for family. She also enjoyed skiing, both downhill and water, gardening and reading. She is survived by her husband, Robert Ronald Ross of Roanoke; three sons, Robert (Lisa) Ross of Plymouth, Michigan, Joseph (Michelle) Ross of Pendleton, Indiana, and Jon (Shelley) Ross of Roanoke; 13 grandchildren, Ryan Ross of Brooklyn, Michigan, Parker Ross of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Lauren Ross of Irvine, Kentucky, Tristan Ross, Ethan Ross, Avery Ross, and Mikala Ross, all of Pendleton, Ellen (Ivan) Upshaw of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Madison Ross of Indianapolis, Indiana, Preston Ross of Roanoke, Grace Wiltrakis of Clarkston, Michigan, Sophia Wiltrakis and Anne Wiltrakis, both of Plymouth, Michigan; sisters and brother, Jean Ann (Ron) Collins of Leo, Indiana, Patsy Mahle of Plano, Texas, Jim (Linda) Beghtel of Muncie, Indiana, and Barbara (Denny) Fusselman of Huntington, Indiana.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Linda Baker and Kay Lilie. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, September 19, 2024, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 188 W. Sinclair, Wabash, with Father Jay Horning officiating. Entombment will be in Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.  Friends may call 4-8 pm Wednesday, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with a rosary service at 8:00 pm.
