Ansah Koi Lay, 56, of Peru, Indiana, passed away on October 4, 2024. Born on May 25, 1968, Ansah dedicated over three decades of his life working as an MRI technologist, a career that reflected his passion for learning and medical imaging science.
A graduate of Peru High School and Indiana University, Ansah was well-regarded for his intelligence and kindness. He was a quiet and reserved man who effortlessly made others feel heard and valued. Ansah was a devoted husband to his wife, Michele Lay, and a loving father to his daughters, Michelle Lay and Aven (Emily) McIntosh. His family circle extended to his stepchildren, Anthony (Colleen) Dent, Christopher Dent, Ariel (Tim) Herniak, and Skylar Bailey, whom he cherished deeply.
Ansah's love for the outdoors was evident in his enjoyment of camping and boating with his family. His adventurous spirit was also seen in his passion for riding his Harley. In quieter times, he was learning to play the guitar, a recent hobby that brought him joy.
Ansah's life was celebrated by a large family, including his grandchildren, Ansah, Emrah, and Adrianna, and step-grandchildren, Austyn, Cooper, Aurora, Olivia, Jackson, Molly, and Billy. He is survived by his brother, Rockland (Paula) Lay, and sister, Koleki (Neal) Paige, along with numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, George and Ollia Lay, preceded him in death.
Visitation for Ansah will be held from 4 PM to 6 PM on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru. The funeral service will commence at 6 PM with Bishop Rockland Lay officiating. Friends, family, and those whose lives were touched by Ansah are welcome to attend and celebrate his profound impact.
