Born on April 29, 1942, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, Barbara’s life was a testament to her gentle spirit and unwavering care for others, both two-legged and four-legged alike.
Retiring from RCA and UTEC, Barbara dedicated her professional life to service, a dedication that extended far beyond the workplace and into the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. For over 20 years, she actively participated in the American Legion Post 10 Ladies Auxiliary, forging deep connections with her community and becoming a source of strength and support for many.
Barbara’s hobbies reflected her love for nature and adventure. She found joy in gardening, where she nurtured vibrant blooms and greenery with the same love she gave to her family. Fishing and boat rides brought her peace and happiness, creating cherished memories with loved ones as she basked in the beauty of the great outdoors.
She leaves behind her beloved family, including her son Jeff Bartel and daughter-in-law Melissa, alongside her cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey and Nicole. Barbara was also a proud great-grandmother to Aidan, Luca, and Lena, who will carry her legacy of love and kindness into the next generations.
Barbara rejoins her dearly departed son, Glenn Bartel, and siblings Darrell, Claude, David, Ann, and Pam Derossett, who awaited her with open arms. Their memories will forever live on through the stories shared and the love they nurtured in one another.
As we gather to celebrate her life, we invite all to join in remembering the warmth she brought into our lives.
