Barbara Sue Mosley, 84, of Peru left this Earthly Realm on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on August 19, 1940 in Peru, Indiana to Joseph V. and Mary Ellen (Myers) Opp. Barbara attended Peru High School. On June 6, 1959 she married AJ Mosley. They have been happily married for 66 years as Barbara was the love of AJ’s life.
Barbara had a heart of gold. She was a caretaker to many people. She was an avid gardener, lover of flowers, and thoroughly enjoyed going to the casino. She had a zest for life, but her family was of utmost importance to her.
She is survived by her husband, her sons Daryl Mosley (Matthew David Duncan) of Palm Springs, California and Tony Mosley of Peru, Indiana, a grand-daughter, Amber Mosley, siblings: Joe Opp, Terry (Colleen) Opp, Larry (Rhonda) Opp, and Jean (Charlie) Hughes, all of Peru, Indiana. Also surviving is her former daughter-in-law, Tina Mosley and brother-in-law Bob Jones, and sister-in-law Peggy Opp.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, a son Bryan Jay Mosley, and siblings: Marlene Turnpaugh, Connie Bloomfield, Rick Opp, and Kate Jones.
She was a Cherished Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and friend. She always gave more in this life than she ever asked for or took. She created joy every day of her life for many. The life of many will be less vibrant without her, but her time on Earth, had been fulfilled, and it was time for her journey Home.
Per Barbara’s wishes there was a private family gathering on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.
