Basil “Mike” Brady

Basil “Mike” Brady, 87, Upland, went home to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, at 4:10 pm on Monday, October 14, 2024, at his home in Upland. Mike was born in Torrance, California on Tuesday, March 16, 1937, to Basil E. and Inez (Wilson) Brady.

 

He graduated from Torrance High School (1954) and Cal Tech (1959). Mike married Normajean Trout who preceded him in death October 11, 2014. They were married 55 years.

Mike was a Medical Laboratory Technician, Chemist and Supervisor at Saginaw Medical Center for many years. He was an avid traveler and was well known for his love for the Lord. He enjoyed spending time with family, gardening and working on his computer. He served First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Gas City, as an Elder, Chair of Elders and was Elder Emeritus.

He is survived by sons, Phillip Brady of Hartford City, Victor Wayne (Jean) Brady of Upland, and Douglas (Beth) Brady of Hartford City; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Heather) Brady, Megan Kilner, Derrick (Kylie) Brady, Jonathan Brady, Samantha Hand, Steven Hand; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Trenton) Horn, Ryleigh Kilner, Jakob Brady, Jared Kilner and Tavis Kilner; sister, Leta (Robert) Englehart of Henderson, NV; and several nieces, nephews and loved ones.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard Brady; daughter, Karen Sue Hand; grandsons, Dustin Andrew Brady and Tyler Douglas Brady.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Monday, October 21, 2024 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Mike’s life will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Jeff Brady officiating.
