Benny "Ben" DeBonis, 70, Marion, passed away at 8:39 pm on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Marion Health. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Friday, July 30, 1954, to Joseph and Dorothy (Keene) DeBonis.
Ben graduated from Mississinewa High School and attended Indiana State University. He was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church. He was very involved in the Catholic Church and loved diving into the history of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed bike riding, doing genealogy, and working out. Most of all, Ben loved spending time with family.
Survivors include his sister, Nancy (Larry) Smith of Gas City; sister-in-law, Jewell DeBonis; nephews, Jeff Smith, Greg Fernandes, Chris Fernandes, Alex DeBonis; nieces, Nikki Barrett, Josie Buck, Macy Smith, Angie Kevlishvili; several great-nieces and nephews; and special cousin, Kathy Kidwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy DeBonis; brother, Joseph (Jewell) DeBonis; and sister, Judy Fernandes.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, beginning at 11:00 am with Father Hilary officiating at St. Paul Catholic Church 1031 W. Kem Rd., Marion, IN.
Immediately following, a graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery.
