Our beloved mother, Betty Darlene Barker, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on February 12, 1931 to David and Amelia Bertram. She is survived by her son Steven (Christel) Barker and her daughter Kathleen (Rebecca Zody) Barker, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ora Bruce Barker.
As a youth, our mom was involved with the church and was an amazing singer in her choir. Her passions included music, flowers, shopping, decorating, and taking care of our family. She was widely known as the best giver of candy during Halloween for the kids. She had a great sense of humor and loved donating to veteran and children’s causes. Heaven has gained another angel and we will miss her greatly.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 10:00-10:30am at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. A graveside service will follow at 11:00am at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery in Logansport, Indiana.
