Beverly Ann Tolley

Beverly Ann Tolley, 81, of Peru passed away peacefully at Hickory Creek of Peru on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. She recently moved to Hickory Creek after the passing of her beloved Husband Phil Tolley on October 21, 2024. She would want everyone to know that her hospice nurse Jennifer Guffey and nurses’ aide, Jennifer Hayden, were her angels on earth who blessed her with the best, most loving care possible.

Bev was born on October 29, 1943 in Connersville, Indiana to Erma and Arthur Ballinger. Bev often said she had a great childhood. Sharing her childhood were sisters, Donnis and Sherry, and her brother Jim. She also claimed to have the best mom in the whole world. All have passed.

Surviving family members include children, Gary and Greg Basham, Polly Irwin, Troy and Tyrone Tolley, 10 grandkids, 3 great grandkids, and lots of extended Tolley family members, including her best friend and niece Teresa Hummel/Druyor. Knowing Bev was welcomed into heaven by her husband Phil, and her son, Derek James, bring us great joy.

Bev’s first job was as a soda jerk at Heisler’s Drugstore where she earned $.25 an hour. Bev went on to become a beautician, but most of her career was working at the Kroger grocery store as a cashier, florist, and general manager.

Her best advice in life: “Never leave someone without telling them you love them”. May that be her legacy.

Celebration of Life for Bev will be held at Faith Outreach Center, 1125 East 9th Street, Rochester, Indiana 46975 on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 6:00pm with a meal following for family and friends. Pastor and nephew Rick Tolley, along with granddaughter Jamin Irwin will provide encouraging words and prayer for all who attend.

Memorial contributions may be given to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Bev’s honor.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at www.FlowersLeedyAllen.com.
