Brian Tunney

Brian Tunney, 85, of Gas City, passed away in his home at 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 6, 2025. He was born in London, England on Wednesday, August 16, 1939, to Fred and Isabelle (Fagence) Tunney.  He married Judith Morgenroth on January 25, 1969 and she survives.

Brian worked as a Mechanical Engineer for 35 years with Alcoa in Richmond, retiring in 2000. Brian enjoyed golfing. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Brian is survived by wife, Judith Tunney of Gas City; daughters, Ann (Craig) Leavitt of Gas City, Nikki (Mark) Cummings of Roswell, GA; son, Brian J. (Lori) Tunney of Pekin; grandchildren, Cole (Kierstin) Leavitt, Kaitlyn (Tanner Quakenbush) Leavitt, Nathan (Gabrielle Richardson) Cummings, Evan Cummings, Isabel Tunney; great-grandson, Max Leavitt; brother, Fred (Late Sheila) Tunney; several nieces, nephews and friends; as well as his cat, Kitty Cat.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Isabelle Tunney; and sisters, Phyllis Martin, Doreen Dunmore, Daphne Ripperger.

At the family’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
