Cass County Man Arrested for Child Molesting and Related Crimes

CASS COUNTY, IN- This morning, November 27, just after 8:30 a.m., members of the Indiana State Police- Peru Post arrested a Cass County man on felony charges after a nine-month investigation into allegations of child molesting.

The investigation began in March 2024 when allegations were reported to the Indiana State Police.  During the investigation, detectives determined that Jerry B. Norris, age 61, allegedly had improper contact with a juvenile in Cass County.

At the conclusion of the investigation, the case was presented to the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office.  Ultimately, an arrest warrant and search warrant were obtained for Mr. Norris and his residence. Officers located Mr. Norris at his residence, and Trooper Chad Babbs safely took him into custody.

Once taken into custody, Mr. Norris was served the search warrant for his residence. After a subsequent search, officers located multiple electronic devices, suspected marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

At the conclusion of the investigation, he was incarcerated in the Cass County Jail.

-Possession of Marijuana, B Misdemeanor
-Possession of Paraphernalia, C Misdemeanor

Trooper Babbs was assisted on the scene by other members from the Indiana State Police Peru Post.
