Catherine Salvona Williams (née Kirkpatrick), 83, was born on July 7, 1941, in Edinburgh, Scotland, to John and Mary (née McGeorge) Kirkpatrick. She passed away on March 12, 2025, in her wee hoose surrounded by her loving family.
Catherine graduated from Niddrie Marischal School in Craigmillar, Edinburgh. Shortly after graduation, she met Ron, a tall, handsome Air Force man, who swept her off her feet and made her his bride in October of 1960. The first two of their four children were born in Scotland before Ron was reassigned back to the States, where they welcomed their next two children and shared forty-one happy years together.
Family was the greatest treasure in her life followed closely by earl grey tea, chocolate, and tending to the flowers in her garden. Ron was the greatest love of her life, but if you spent any time with her at all, you knew that her heart’s home was in her beloved Scotland. She told story after story about being a highland dancer, her aunts and uncles, mum and dad, the castles, the lochs, the seaside and the streets she called home. Nobody brought a smile to her face like her brother, who everyone knew to the very end was her favorite of all. She loved Jesus with every fiber of her being and prayed continuously over her people. She was the sweetest soul and lived her life filled with gratitude, grace, and quiet perseverance.
Catherine is survived by her children, Valerie (Rex) Gillespie of Albany, Donna (Kurt) Williams of Danville, PA, John (Nikole) Williams of Anthem, AZ, and Scott (Katie) Williams of Albany; nine grandchildren, Joshua (Stephanie) Carmichael, Mallory (Darin) Garrison, Quinn (Michelle) Eppley, Sydney Dilick, Grace Williams, Brady Williams, and Abigail Williams; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Pauline) Kirkpatrick; and many loving extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ronald Williams.
