Cecil R. Helton, 85, Carmel, passed away at 6:38 pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Maple Park Village in Westfield. He was born in Greentown, Indiana, on Wednesday, January 31, 1940, to Herman and Lucy (Kitts) Helton. He married Helen Roberts and later married Wanda Sams.
Cecil graduated from Eastern High School and attended Ivy Tech / Indiana State University. He worked as a Vocational Tech Teacher in Vocational Auto Body, retiring in 1989. He loved to travel and enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lucy Helton; his first wife, Helen Roberts; wife, Wanda Helton; son, Travis Helton; sisters, Mary Lanning, Ruby Rydstrom, Loraine Hightower, and Betty Perkins; and brothers, William Helton, Richard Helton, and Charles Helton.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
A private burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
