Charles H. “Red” “Grandpa” Miller, 90, Auburn, passed away at 5:00 pm on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Friday, September 14, 1934, to James and Gladys (Humphreys) Miller.
Charles graduated from Evans High School and worked at Old Fort Block Plant in Fort Wayne. He cherished visiting with his friends, taking leisurely walks around Fort Wayne, and spending quality time with his family. His love for country music and John Wayne westerns was well-known among those close to him. Charles will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Charles W. (Diane) Miller of Wabash, Budd (Kelly) Miller of Heber Springs, AR, Nick Miller of Fort Wayne, Randy (Morgan) Miller of Fort Wayne, and Chuck E. (Tammie) Miller of Auburn; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Marge Nantz of Upland, Betty Smith of Marion, and Ann Atkins of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Faye Miller and Jane Thompson; parents, James O. and Gladys Miller; daughter, Velma “Sissy” Miller; sister, Vera Hunt; brothers, William “Bud” Miller, Woodrow “Willy” Miller, Jack Miller, and Walter “Pete” Gene Miller; and brother-in-law, Dave Atkins.
The family will receive visitors from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Charles’ life will begin at 4:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
