Charles Ray Patrick

Charles Ray Patrick, 78, of North Manchester, Indiana, died at 4:15 pm, Monday, November 4, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family.  He was born on March 30, 1946, in Royalton, Kentucky, to Monroe Patrick and Rose L. (Hale) Mann.

Charles was a 1964 graduate of Claypool High School, and attended Purdue University. He was an MP in the US Army, Company A 720th MP Battalion, serving in Vietnam, and received the Army Commendation Medal. Charles married Carole (Broda) Miller in Warsaw, Indiana on September 20, 2001. He was a retired salesman. Charles umpired youth league, high school, and college baseball and softball, and was the Assistant Girls Gymnastic Coach at Warsaw High School. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and the Moose Lodge, all of Warsaw, and the Horological Society of New York. Charles had his pilots license and enjoyed flying. He loved fixing things especially repairing antique clocks. Charles also enjoyed traveling, hockey, bird watching, saving the monarchs by pollinator gardening, and watching his grandchildren’s activities. He was an avid Notre Dame fan.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Miller-Patrick of North Manchester; four children, Cory (Jennifer) Patrick of Larwill, Indiana, Cary Patrick of Warsaw, Indiana, Kristen (Kristofer) Petren of Kensington, Maryland, Patrick (Katie) Miller of Owings Mills, Maryland, 8 grandchildren, Ethan Patrick, Megan Baxter, Eli Patrick, Addison Baxter, Ryan Baxter, Kyndalyn Patrick, Vivian Miller, and Andrew Miller; sister, Virginia (Herb) Smith of Warsaw; and his brother, James (Carol) Patrick of Lagrange, Indiana.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Carl, Earl, and Howard Patrick.

Friends may call 4-7 pm Monday, November 11, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main Street, North Manchester. There will be no service.

Preferred memorial is American Cancer Society.
