Chili for Charity Commitee awards local organizations

WABASH, IN- Thursday, November 7th, 2024 the Wabash Cannonball Chili for Charity Cook-off Committee, along with their long-standing partners Wabash County United Fund, awarded Wabash County Charitable Organizations an incredible $43,000. These proceeds were raised during the 2024 Chili Cook-off Event, where nearly 4,000 attendees made their way to Paradise Spring Historical Park to taste several variations of homemade Chili. The Cook-off was held the 3rd Saturday in October, as it is each year.

Emily Overlander, president of Wabash Cannonball Chili for Charity, Inc. proudly reported, “This year we chose to support twenty-four local charitable organizations, in honor of the 2024 cook-off. This allowed those who donated to support several great causes at once, making a large impact on our community. The Chili Committee was honored to award our local charities with $43,000 tonight. In just one day, so many kind and generous community members and local businesses came together to transform this fun and competitive event into meaningful impact on our community.”

To date, the chili committee has awarded over $783,000 to Wabash County Charities. Of this amount, United Fund has generously matched $170,000, showing incredible support for both the Chili Cook-off event and the community as a whole. Who knew such a fun event could be so rewarding for everyone involved, especially our local charities doing amazing work in Wabash County.
