Clarence “Lumpy” Darrell Palmer

Clarence “Lumpy” Darrell Palmer, 76, of Marion, passed away at 6:47 am on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in his home. He was born in Goodrich, Michigan on Sunday, December 26, 1948, to Chester “Bob” and Phoebe (Smith) Palmer. He was married to Charlene (Shevokas) Palmer, who preceded him in death.

Lumpy was a Painting Booth Cleaner for 30 years with General Motors. He was a hunter, motorcycle rider, pool player, and camper. He always knew where to get the “best ice” and was a master wordsmith with a story to tell and a punch line to reveal. Most of all, he was a family man.

Survivors include his daughters, Shelly Wood of Marion and Valorie Palmer of Mancelona, MI; one sister; one brother; grandchildren, Christopher, Kory, Casey, Felisha, Mariah, Donaven, and Bryce; great-grandchildren, Keira, Harley, Aireona, Nathan, Lenyx, Nicholas, Phoebe, Natalie, and AnnMarie; and great-great-grandson, Kingston.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Palmer; father, Chester “Bob” Palmer; and mother, Phoebe Palmer.

The family will receive visitors from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
