Clifford Lee Bennett

Clifford Lee Bennett, 87, Marion, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Wesleyan Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Marion. He was born to Walter and Juanita Bennett in Gas City, Indiana, on February 12, 1937. On November 1, 1969, he married the love of his life, Ona Plank.

Clifford graduated from Mississinewa High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from June 1955 to June 1963. Clifford was very proud of his service in the military. He worked at General Tire/Gen Corp for over thirty years. He was a faithful member of First Pentecostal Church; he loved attending and volunteering at the church.

More than anything, Clifford loved his family. He was known for his love of picking on people. Anything Clifford did, he did with his whole heart; he always gave it his all. His famous line was, "My name is Cliff, drop over some time."

Survivors include his son, Kevin (Dawn) Bennett of Warren; grandchildren, Ashley (Justin) Miller of Huntington, Allie Bennett of Fort Wayne, Rebekah Weaver of Muncie, and Rachel Johnson of Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Harrison Campbell, Jayden Bennett, and Jaysha Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Juanita Bennett; wife of over 50 years, Ona Bennett; and daughter, Renea A. Villarreal.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the visitation, a service to celebrate Clifford's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Clarence Hand officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
