Coleen L. (Hall) Ayala

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Coleen L. (Hall) Ayala, who was born in Bluffton, Indiana, on Tuesday, August 27, 1946.  She died at home at 6:10 am on Thursday, December 12, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.

Coleen was a graduate of Marion High School, class of 1965, where she met the love of her life, George Ayala, whom she married in 1966.

Coleen loved working with the elderly and spent several years employed with Emily Flinn Nursing Home and Colonial Oaks.  She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, genealogy, antiques, bird watching, visiting courthouses, and was a member of the Red Hat Society for many years.

Coleen took great pleasure in spending time with her immediate and extended family.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance.  She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband, George Ayala of Marion; daughters, Michelle L. (Jerry) Shoup of Westfield, Angela E. Ayala Williams of Marion, and Renee A. Ayala of LaFontaine; grandchildren, Jerryd (Linsey) Shoup of Westfield, Jerryme (Amy) Shoup of Carmel, Shawn-Allen Ayala of Muncie, Olivia Ayala (partner, James Tavernor) of Ann Arbor, MI, Aidan Ayala of Hartford City, Jerryka (fiancé, Chris Strycker) Shoup of Argos, Branden Harbert of Marion, Isaac (Barbie) Ayala of Westfield, Jerrylyn Shoup of Westfield, and Jacob Williams of Marion; great-grandchildren: Julian Harbert and Jamiah Harbert of Maryland; and Everett Shoup, Vivianna Shoup, and Reeve Shoup of Carmel; very dear friend, Kathy Allessio of Marion; along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved greatly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles A. Hall; mother, Ruth E. Hall; brother, Albert Hall; and sister, Patricia Clawson.
