Curtis Ray Correll

Curtis Ray Correll, 66, of Peru, Indiana stepped off this plane and went to be with his beloved daughter Laura. He was born on February 17, 1959 to LaMoine and Donna (Glassburn) Correll in Marshfield, WI.

He always did things his way and chose to have 2 birthday celebrations. One surrounded by his earthly family and the other with those gone before him.

He married Sara Marie Purdy on August 26, 1978. They shared 47 years of love, laughter, heartache and loss. They raised 3 beautiful girls, Laura, Ann and Sarina. Along with countless others who needed them.

Curt was a “good ol’ farm boy” with strong work and personal ethics. He loved hard but you had to be a very special person to warrant that love. He kept a hard shell around a soft heart.

He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend.

He loved music (and if he asked who originated any song your response had better have been The Beatles), cars, playing guitar and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid Paranormal, Big Foot and UFO enthusiast after having many experiences of his own. But most of all, he loved “his girls.”

He is survived by his wife Sara, daughters Ann and Sarina, his parents LaMoine and Donna Correll, sister Pat (Todd) Brown, brother Randy Correll and nieces and nephews, his furkids and many friends. He said often “I’m a people person.”

He will be missed by many including his mother-in-law, Jane Purdy, a very special family friend whom he adored, Sheila Butcher and his “granddaughter” Willow who will now learn about “Peepaw” from those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Laura, his brother Brian and his grandparents Verling and Edith Correll and James and Bernice (Hap) Glassburn.

He loved teaching younger people things, giving them the opportunity to do it themselves while he guided them. He was an extraordinary human being. Strong, Resilient, Compassionate and Honest.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 29th at 2pm in Star Lodge at Bass & Bucks in Wabash, IN.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home 105 W. 3rd Street to help cover final expenses.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at www.FlowersLeedyAllen.com.
