Daryl Edward Leist, 67, Marion, went to be with The Lord in his home surrounded by his loving family at 7:35 pm on Sunday, September 15, 2024. He was born in Hartford City, Indiana, on Thursday, November 22, 1956, to Franklin "Frank" and Mary (Powers) Leist. On July 14, 2018, he married his loving bride and soul mate, Mary Bragg (Croucher-Leist).
Daryl was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving as a medical surge which made him pursue his career in nursing. He graduated from nursing school at Marion College in 1987 as an R.N. He served in several hospitals throughout Indiana providing exceptional patient care. He retired from Twin City Healthcare in Gas City, IN in July 2021.
He was an avid fisherman and golfer. He enjoyed the outdoors. His hobbies were woodworking and cooking. He loved watching football and WWE. The holidays were very special to him, enjoying time with friends and family. He hosted many gatherings and cookouts at his home with friends.
He will be very sadly missed by his wife of 6 years, Mary; children, Jordan (Sydney) Croucher of Marion, Abigail Croucher of Ft. Wayne; dog, Monte and grand fur babies, Kylo and Ivy; brothers, Darwin (Sandy) Leist of Lapel; Darren (Laurie) Leist of Montpelier; sister, Dina (Preston Smith) Leist of Hampton, VA; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Dennis) Harrell of Corryton, TN; brother-in-law, Aaron (America) Bragg of Indianapolis; special nieces, Rachel (Nels) Walker of Knoxville, TN and Emily Leist of Gas City; special nephews, Andrew Bragg and Benjamin Walker; special uncle, Robert Powers of Hartford City; aunt, Ann Cavanaugh of Upland; good friends, John and Donna Fox, Dale Williams, Jay and Tylana Byrd, and Steve and Lexie Hicks; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding him in death were his father, Franklin "Frank" D. Leist; grandparents, Charles and Mabel Leist, Samuel and Letha Powers, Edgar and Evelyn Carney; father and mother-in-law, John and Linda Bragg; special uncle, Ron Carr; and fur baby, Hollie Jo.

The family will receive visitors from 12 noon to 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Westview Wesleyan Church 1300 W. 6th St., Jonesboro, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, Memorial Service to celebrate Daryl's life will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Ryan Budde officiating.
