David A. Jones

David A. Jones, Marion, passed away at 11:49 am on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Sixty-five years ago on May 22, 1959, a king was born to Vivian L. and James Jones, Sr. David was born with a hole in his heart and was given only three months to live. His mother never left his side, until she went home to be with the Lord. After that, his siblings and nieces took care of him. He never had to go in a nursing home. David’s family is so blessed and thankful to Jesus for allowing them to have had him for over 65 years.

He was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and more recently a member of New Temple of Faith Ministries. David loved watching wrestling and was an avid fan. He was part of Carey Services and through them enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics. His family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Forte Residential, Faithful Friends Healthcare, Premiere Home Healthcare and Advantage Home Healthcare for their special care they gave him through the years.

Left to cherish his memories are his siblings, Daryl W. Jones of Marion, Lebertha Jones of Marion, Jeffrey (Shannon) Jones of Marion; aunt, Yvonne Dean of Phoenix; uncle, Albert Luster of Kokomo; uncle, George Luster of Chicago, and a host of aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents James and Vivian Jones; brothers, Michael Jones, Leroy Jones, James Jones, Jr., Robert Jones; sisters, Edith Smith, Doris Jones; and grandmother Elmetria.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, December 27, 2024, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1204 W. 14th St., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate David’s life will begin at 12:00 pm Rev. Daryl Jones officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
