Deborah Jo Roby, 77, lifelong resident of Gas City, passed away peacefully in her home with the comfort of family on Monday, June 17, 2024 and will be deeply missed. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Saturday, November 30, 1946, to Warren Hendey and Betty (Coker) Jones.
Deborah graduated from Mississinewa and worked at Sonoco Products and then at United Technology, retiring in 2009. Debbie loved spending time with her family watching and playing game shows. She was a dedicated Colts fan and enjoyed watching all sports. She also loved hosting ALL holiday gatherings and insisted her recipes were followed to a T (lol).
Deborah is survived by her daughters, Shawn Roby-Barsha, Tana (Chad Haynes) Roby; son, Trace (Wanda) Roby; father of her children, Skip Roby; brother, Charles Hendey; sisters, Donna Davis, Diana (Gailon Garling) Jones; grandchildren, Krista (Mike) King, Kyle (Sarah Orme) Barsha; and many more great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Warren Hendey; and mother, Betty Jones.
At Deborah's request, the family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
