Detective Brent Ingram retires after 33 years of service

Peru, IN- Indiana State Police Detective Brent Ingram has retired after 33 years of service to the citizens of Indiana. Detective Ingram is a native of Bunker Hill, Indiana, and attended Maconaquah High School, where he graduated in 1978. Upon graduation, he attended Indiana University Kokomo, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in general studies. In 1991, he was selected to attend the 49th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy. After 20 weeks of arduous training, Ingram was appointed on November 24, 1991, and was assigned to the Peru District.

During his career, Ingram has served as:
Tactical Intervention Platoon Member (Riot Team)
Critical Stress Management Team Leader (North Central) (CISM) Problem-Oriented Policing Program- Team Leader/Sergeant (POPS) Corporal (1994-1999)
Sergeant (1999-2011)
Detective (2011-2024)

The Indiana State Police recognized Ingram for reaching 500,000 safe driving miles.

Ingram shared his heartfelt appreciation for his family’s unwavering support over his 33-year career with the Indiana State Police, noting that he has cherished every moment of being a trooper.  Ingram was a dedicated officer and a man of diverse interests. He is an active member of his community, dedicated to serving at his local church. In his free time, he enjoys riding motorcycles, playing golf, researching firearms, and spending time with his family. His family includes a wife of 44 years, one daughter, one son (deceased), and three grandchildren.
