Donald G. “Richie” Richardson, 83, of rural North Manchester, Indiana, died at 11:27 am, Friday, January 10, 2025, at Parkview Wabash Hospital. He was born on August 14, 1941, in Wabash County, Indiana, to Harold and Edna Leanore (Yentes) Richardson.
Don was a 1959 graduate of Roann High School. He married Beverly Shepler on June 24, 1961, at the Church of the Brethren, in Wabash. He owned and operated Richardson Construction for several years. Don attended the Roann United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Roann Lions Club. He coached Little League and was also a cub scout leader. Don enjoyed camping, woodworking, and was an avid Indiana Pacers fan. He liked to tinker on everything. Don especially loved his granddaughters and enjoyed watching them in all their activities.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Richardson of North Manchester; three children, Scott (Judy) Richardson of Wabash, Jeff (Dawn) Richardson of Cicero, and Candi (Clary) Eltzroth of North Manchester; grandchildren, Melissa Allen, Sydney (Tanner) Chamberlain, Caitlin (Jared) Hall, Kamden Richardson, Chelsea Denman, and Ashley (Phil) Johnson, as well as several great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Eleanor Mattern and Marjorie Dillard.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Roann Chapel, 335 S. Chippewa Rd., Roann, with Pastor Wayne Balmer and Pastor David Eaton officiating. Burial will be in Roann Community Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are Roann United Methodist Church and the American Diabetes Association.
