Donald L. Duncan

Donald L. Duncan, 80, of Kokomo, passed away at 8:43 pm on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. He was born in Kokomo, Indiana, on December 23, 1944, to Edward D. and Mary J. (Brough) Duncan.

Donald graduated from Eastern High School in Greentown and attended Ball State University. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his service, he worked as a Pipe Fitter for 40 years with Local 440 Union, where he was known for his hard work and commitment.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Marcie Duncan of Kokomo; his children, Zak (Heather) Duncan of Kokomo, Sam (Brittani) Duncan of Swayzee, Alex (Jess) Duncan of Swayzee, Stephanie Lowdermilk of Kokomo, Tony Obermeyer, Jason Datzman, and Richard Kaplan; his grandchildren, Alysia Duncan of Clarksville, TN, Taylor Duncan of Kokomo, and Ryker Duncan of Swayzee; and many extended family members and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wellbrooke of Kokomo for their heartfelt love and compassion.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Edward D. Duncan and Mary J. Duncan; his sister, Sondra (Charles) Carter; and his brother, Robert Joseph Duncan.

A graveside service will be held at Thrailkill Cemetery at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 5, 2025, with Tony Obermeyer officiating.

Following the service, there will be a celebration of life at Ned’s Corner Pub in Kokomo.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Donald’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 50 E. 91st St., Ste. 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
