Elaine Diane Curtis

Elaine Diane Curtis, 75, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 12:30 pm, Friday, July 12, 2024, at her home while with family. She was born on March 6, 1949, in Huntington, Indiana, to John Thomas and Betty (Scheiber) Driscoll. 

Elaine was a 1967 graduate of Wabash High School and married her high school sweetheart, Charles "Chuck" Curtis on August 22, 1970. She worked many years in human resources at GDX in Wabash before retiring. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wabash, and the Wabash Elks Lodge #471. She was an amazing cook, loved her family and friends, vacations in Florida, spending time at Secrist Lake, and Christmas was her favorite time of year.  

She is survived by her husband, Chuck Curtis of Wabash, three children, Cara (Matt) Smith of Wabash, Ryan (Jama) Curtis of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Gina (Grant) Hierlmeier of Plymouth, Indiana, five grandchildren; Bailey Smith and Jeffrey Curtis both of Muncie, Indiana, Derrick Smith of Wabash, Olivia Curtis of Covington, Kentucky, and Andie Hierlmeier of Plymouth. She also has two great-grandchildren, Reid and Lydia. Elaine has three sisters, Janet Poole, JoAnn Barrows, and Tammy Driscoll, and step on sister Tanya Gill, all of Wabash. Nieces and nephews include, Keith Poole, Scott (Amy) Poole, Brian (Jamie) Poole, Kristie (Michael) Easterday, Craig (Nicole) Barrows, Charles Scott (Jenni) Smith, Mariella Wohlford, and also great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law Gary Poole, Dave Barrows, Guy Smith, sister-in-law Judy (Curtis) Smith, and nephew Kim Poole.

There will be a Celebration of Elaine's life from 3-5 pm Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the Wabash Elks Lodge. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash. 

Preferred memorials are Elks Martin-Curtis Scholarship Fund or St. Bernard Catholic Elementary School.
