Elizabeth A. Powell, 93, of Marion, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 22, 2025. Liz married Don Powell on July 4, 1948. They were married for 66 years until Don’s passing in 2014. They were lifelong Marion residents but spent many winters in St. Petersburg, Florida, where they had many cherished friends.
Liz was a long-time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and, most recently, attended College Wesleyan Church. She loved God, her husband, and her family. In 1962, Liz was selected as Grant County “Mother of the Year”. She was involved in many clubs and organizations, and she volunteered at Marion General Hospital.
Liz is survived by her son, Mike (Judy) Powell; grandchildren, Ryan (Kristi) Irving, Lindsay Irving, and Cory (Katie) Powell; and great-grandchildren, Owen Irving, Hudson Powell, and Blake Powell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; daughter, Linda Powell; and parents, Andy and Ada Yunker.
The family would like to thank Cedar Creek Assisted Living and Stillwater Hospice for their kind and loving care.
There will be a private ceremony for the family.
