Ellen Katherine Jordan, 78, of Marion, passed away peacefully at 10:23 am on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born on August 31, 1946, in Pennington Gap, Virginia, to William R. and Ruth S. (Sheets) Jordan. Ellen graduated from Marion High School and later took various courses to further her education. She dedicated many years of her life as a Medical Technician at Marion General Hospital, where she worked until her retirement in 2011. A devoted member of Grace Community Church, Ellen found joy in her faith and community involvement. Ellen had a passion for painting and loved to travel, exploring new places whenever she could. An avid Amazon shopper, she had a knack for finding treasures online. Her love for animals, especially dogs, was well-known among her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and sewing, often creating beautiful items for those she loved. Ellen is survived by her beloved cousins, Krista (Jim) Schulz of Fishers; Troy (Betty) Sheets of Marion; James (Anna) Schulz of Parish, FL; and Caitlin (Mike) Bamrick of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Jordan. On Monday, October 21, 2024, a graveside service to celebrate Ellen’s life will begin at 11:00 am at Gardens of Memory in Marion. Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Grace Community Church, 1810 E. Bradford Pike, Marion, IN 46952.
