Elvin D. "Elmo" Ritter, 74, Marion, passed away at 9:33 am on Thursday, June 6, 2024, in Anderson. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Wednesday, June 8, 1949, to Henry and Marien (Mills) Ritter. On December 17, 1988, he married Deborah L. First and she survives.
Elmo worked as an installer for 18 years with Curran Roofing, retiring in 2006. He was a member of American Legion Post 313. He loved hunting and fishing.
Along with his wife, Deborah L. Ritter of Marion, survivors also include his son, Billy J. Ritter of Kokomo; 6 grandchildren; brother, Charlie (Grace) Ritter of Upland and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Marien Ritter; sisters, Lena Salazar, Billie Jean Gerstorff; and brothers, Butch Ritter and Fred Ritter.
The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
A service to celebrate Elvin's life will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11:30 am at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Colyer officiating. Burial will take place at Estates of Serenity.
