Ernestine Docia Webb

Ernestine Docia Webb, 79, of Peru passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at her home.

She was born August 26, 1944, in Peru, Indiana to Ernest Premer and Dorothy (Melson) Premer.  She married Danny Webb on April 18, 1964, and he survives.

Docia was a licensed practical nurse, but she filled most of her days as a loving homemaker.

Docia loved her family, and she particularly loved finding ways to show her love for them, from making their favorite meals to buying little gifts for her granddaughters and learning about football for her grandsons.  She loved being a grandmother and was so excited to meet her first great-granddaughter, Hallie Jane.  She particularly enjoyed spending time with her extended family and loved her nieces and nephews.  Docia was an avid reader and shared her love of books with her daughters and grandchildren.  Docia exhibited a sense of compassion to all she met.  She began attending Peru Grace Brethren Church in high school and was eventually married there.  She faithfully taught preschool Sunday School class for many years and served there also as VBS teacher, JAM/JOY teacher, and was an encouragement to many.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two children, Dana Marie (Webb) Zvers and Amy Kathleen (Webb) Lancaster, both of Peru; four grandchildren, Jackson Zvers Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Jessica Zvers Warsaw, Indiana, Mya Lancaster Peru, Indiana, and Liam Lancaster Peru, Indiana; and great-granddaughter Hallie Jane Zvers.   Docia is preceded in death by her sister Beverly (Premer) Smith and her parents.

Visitation will be at Flowers-Leedy/Allen Funeral Home on August 20, 2024, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 21, 2024, at Flowers- Leedy/Allen Funeral Home.  Burial will take place at Chili Cemetery.
