Eugenia M. Bryant, 91, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 6:48 pm, Monday, February 24, 2025, at her daughter’s home. She was born on November 11, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, to Eugene and Mary (Maglinger) Smits.
Eugenia graduated from high school in 1952. She married Arthur Michael Bryant on August 5, 1953 in Wichita Falls, Texas; he died January 23, 2024. She was a homemaker. Eugenia was a member of Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church in Wabash. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, gardening, and reading her Bible. Among her many talents, she was very artistic.
She is survived by two daughters; Mary Ashba of Wabash, and Patricia Finster of Pine Grove, Pennsylvania, four grandchildren; Allyson Clare (Nate) Lash of Strausstown, Pennsylvania, Lora (Grant) Acker, E. Bruce Ashba, Jr., and Eric Andrew (Amy) Ashba, all of Fort Wayne, 9 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Cathy (Jesse) Cole of Georgia, and brother, Garrett (Marilyn) Smits of Michigan. She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Christina Colleen Bryant, granddaughter, Rebecca Ashba, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Todd Williams officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 12:00 – 2:00 pm Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church, Disabled Veterans, or Animal Shelter of Wabash County.
