Fallis Deen Esarey

Fallis Deen Esarey, 87, of Huntington, passed away at 11:30 pm on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Autumn Ridge Rehabilitation Centre in Wabash. He was born in Leavenworth, Indiana, on Friday, July 30, 1937, to Charles and Zennith (Seaton) Esarey. On May 16, 1987, he married Betty A. Harlan, and she preceded him in death on November 7, 2015.

Fallis attended Princeton High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and achieved the rank of Sergeant. He retired from Dana in Marion after 34 years of service. He was a member of Hanfield United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Gas City Masonic Lodge and the DANA Camping Club.

Fallis enjoyed woodworking and camping, always keeping himself busy and helping others with his genuine soul. More than anything, Fallis loved seeing his grandchildren and going to their many events.

Fallis is survived by his daughters, Debra (Randy) Smith of Huntington and Connie (Robert Wier) Alston of Marion; his grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Smith of Huntington, Michelle (Jason) Ward of Huntington, Stephen (Beth) Alston of Jalapa, Lance (Darcee) Alston of Marion, and Sean Alston of Lima, OH; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles C. Esarey and Zennith (Seaton) Esarey; his wife, Betty A. Esarey; his brothers, Cameron Esarey and Charles Esarey; and his sisters, Brenda Kelly and Rita Parker-McMullen.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

A Masonic service will begin at 11:45 am immediately followed by a funeral service to celebrate Fallis’ life at 12:00 noon.  Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
