Francisco Mendez Vale, 81, of Fishers, passed away at 3:00 am on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. He was born in Moca, Puerto Rico, on December 3, 1942, to Eduardo and Ricarda (Vale) Mendez. Francisco enjoyed his work as a millwright with U.S. Steel. He was a proud member of the VFW and took great pride in being a veteran. He loved boating and mechanics, and he cherished his dogs. He was known for his generosity and willingness to help others. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Josh) Navarro of Fishers; son, Francisco (April) Mendez of Gulf Breeze, FL; grandchildren, Christopher, Anna, Tyler, Dante, Hailey, Mikayla, Elysiah, and Syvanna; brothers, Pete Mendez and Luis Mendez; sisters, Sonia Millikin and Nancy Mendez-Lopez; and great-grandchildren. Francisco was preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo and Ricarda Mendez, and his daughter, Kathy Mendez-Borrowdale. The family will receive visitors from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Francisco’s life will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery.
