Wabash, IN- Visit Wabash County is pleased to announce the release of a new tour. The Garden Trolley Tour is on sale now to the public online and in person at the Welcome Center. The tour will take place on Saturday, August 10 from 8:30 AM to 11 AM. This all-inclusive tour is limited to 34 people and the cost per ticket is $30.

“We have had the perfect spring season which has led to incredible gardenscapes in Wabash County,” said Jennifer Long-Dillon, tourism manager for Visit Wabash County. “On the tour, we will get access to three private gardens and see some wildlife along the way.”

Kick off your morning by meeting Jennifer and Daisy at the Welcome Center (home of Trolley No.85) for hot coffee, lavender tea from Modoc’s Market, and lemon lavender muffins from Bailey’s Pizza Parlor. Hop on board Trolley No.85 at the Welcome Center.

The first stop on the tour is a “behind the scenes” glimpse into the workings of the Morning Glories Garden, known for its incredible spices and dry mixes. On the next stop, get a private guided tour of Amy Howenstine’s garden featuring an explosion of color among her prized zinnias. From Bringing Nature Home, Susie Jones will share information
on the importance of local pollinators and the significance of the Milkweed plant on board the trolley as riders make their way to the next stop. The last stop offers bird watching and exotic plants on Amy Ford’s private grounds. A light locally-made snack will be provided before boarding the trolley to return to the Welcome Center for shopping.

“Exploring the private gardens of Wabash County is like stepping into a hidden oasis, where around every corner reveals unique scenery, wildlife, and nature's artistry,” said Long-Dillon. “Tri Oaks Realty recognizes the importance of showcasing how amazing the quality of life is in Wabash County and we are thankful for their sponsorship.”

The tour includes refreshments from Bailey’s Pizza Parlor and Modoc’s Market. Some of the tour requires walking on uneven terrain. Please wear good walking shoes. The tour is rain or shine. Tri Oaks Realty is the Garden Trolley Tour sponsor. Wabash Castings, LLC serves as the 2024 Premier Trolley No.85 sponsor. All trolley tour programs are supported by the City of Wabash, J.M.
