Geoffrey “Geoff” Lyne Ward, 75, of Peru passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025 at The Waters of Peru.
He was born in Nome, Alaska to the late Raymond and Rosella (Mobley) Ward on August 24, 1949. He married Vicki (Ogle) Ward on August 29, 1970 and she survives.
Geoff was a 1967 graduate of Maconaquah High School and Indiana University Bloomington in 1971. He worked at Eck Adams Corp. (1971-1977), General Tire (1977-1980), and most recently Square D (1980-2008) where he retired as a manufacturing manager. Geoff was a member of the Bunker Hill Community Church (formerly Bunker Hill Methodist Church), and the Walton American Legion Post 418. He was a member of the Peru Maennerchor for 17 years where he served as Club Manager, Trustee and on the Scholarship Committee. He served on the YMCA Board and MCEDA Board for 17 years. He also enjoyed organizing teams for the “Ward Choose Up” for 25 years. Geoff was a lifelong fan of the Indiana Hoosiers and Pittsburgh Steelers/Pirates.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki, daughters; Erin (Randy) Wynn of Rochester, Kyla Ward of Peru, Cory (Ian) Sullivan of Peru, grandchildren; Ryleigh O’Malley, Cuyler O’Malley, Bellamy Sullivan, and a brother, Carey (Sue) Ward of Kokomo. He also leaves behind his dog, Linus.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Peru Maennerchor, 154 South Wabash Street, Peru.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Peru Maennerchor Scholarship Fund in memory of Geoff Ward or the Peru Municipal Junior Golf League.
