Gerald Vanlandingham, 83, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 6:38 pm, Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born on July 15, 1941, in Wabash, to William and Mary Elizabeth (Cross) Vanlandingham.
Gerald was a 1960 graduate of Wabash High School. He married Sharon Harman at the Wabash Church of the Brethren on July 27, 1963; she died July 28, 2023. Gerald worked at GenCorp in Wabash, retiring after 44 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey A. Vanlandingham; daughter-in-law, Charity (Tony) Hough, both of Wabash; three grandsons, Jeffery S. Vanlandingham, and Tony (Isabella Dillon) Hough, both of Wabash, and Tyler (Jessica) Hough of Kokomo, Indiana; and six great-grandchildren, Blaketon Todd Vanlandingham of Wabash, Pruitt Hough and Sloan Hough, both of Kokomo, Gabriella McHaney, Anthony Hough III and Venessa McHaney, all of Wabash. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and son, Mike T. Vanlandingham, who died July 9, 2013.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Rev. Nathan Whybrew officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 5-7 pm Tuesday, at the funeral home.
