WABASH, IN—Downtown Wabash will be filled with families from across Northeast Indiana as a literal ton of candy pours onto Miami Street for the Greatest Spectacle in Candy! The 8th annual Downtown Wabash Trick-or-Treat Extravaganza, presented by Downtown Wabash, Inc., Wabash Trucking and Metal Source, returns on Saturday, October 26, from 5-7 p.m. This free event is open to the public and promises a spooktacular evening of fun and treats for all ages.
For the 6th year, Wabash Trucking will bring one of its roll-off trucks to dump a literal ton of candy onto Miami Street for trick-or-treaters. The candy cascade starts promptly at 5 p.m., and trick-or-treaters will have until 7 p.m. to collect their haul. Hidden among the candy will be three Gebhart Golden Tickets, offering trick-or-treaters a chance to win amazing prizes!
“Halloween has always been my favorite time of year, so being part of the Trick-or-Treat Extravaganza is a blast,” said Ben Gebhart, Chief Executive Officer of Gebhart Holdings, . “Seeing the streets filled with kids in costume, candy, and excitement is what makes this event such a fun tradition in Downtown Wabash.”
In addition to the candy dump on Miami Street, Bachelor Creek Church will host a Costume Contest at Oswalt-Thomas Sales & Service, located at 160 W. Canal St., starting at 6 p.m. This event is free to the public. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spots. The contest will feature 10 categories, with one winner per category. Categories include: Birth-2 years, 3-4 years, 5-6 years, 7-8 years, 9-10 years, 11-12 years, Teen/Adult, Group, Homemade, and Spookiest. Bachelor Creek Church will award the winners of each category a prize from local businesses in Wabash.

- Bounce House provided by New Song Church at the Lighthouse Mission Parking Lot
- Kim’s Kettle Corn from Peru, Indiana
- Additional activities provided by Josiah White’s, Emmanuel Christian Church, Beacon Credit Union, Lighthouse Mission, 85 Hope and Pathfinder Services

In case of rain or inclement weather, the Trick-or-Treat Extravaganza will be rescheduled to Sunday, October 27, from 2-4 p.m. in Downtown Wabash.
