Harvey Dale Coble

Harvey Dale Coble, 78, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 5:42 am, Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Parkview Health Randallia in Fort Wayne.  He was born on March 8, 1946, in Huntington, Indiana, to Carroll and Lena I. (Reiken) Coble. Harvey was a 1964 graduate of Wabash High School. He married his high school sweetheart Brenda DeLong on October 3, 1964 at the Central Evangelical United Brethren Church in Wabash. Harvey retired from Wabash Alloys, after working 44 years, and was instrumental in creating the Water Buffalos Charity. He was a member of the Wabash First United Methodist Church, where he served on several committees and also assisted with the Brianna's Hope Ministry. Harvey was a member of Bassmasters. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. and enjoyed his family and grandchildren immensely. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Coble; two children, Christopher (Pamela) Coble and Lisa (John) Huston, all of Wabash; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Shoemaker of Marion, Indiana, Candace Coble of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Alex Huston of Sweetser, Indiana, and Courtney (Heath) Wrisk of Wabash; six great grandchildren, Brody Overlander, A.J. Shoemaker, Parker Wrisk, Cece Shoemaker, Asher Wrisk, and Kingsley Huston; sister, Carolyn Grandstaff of Urbana, Indiana; brother, David (Colleen) Coble of Buckeye, Arizona; and his mother-in-law, Mintie Pearl DeLong of Wabash.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Kathy Rowe. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Rev. Nathan Whybrew officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash.  Friends may call 4-7 pm Wednesday, at the funeral home. Preferred memorial is First United Methodist Church.
