Honeywell Arts & Entertainment announces Youth Arts Month

Wabash, IN – Honeywell Arts & Entertainment will present Youth Arts Month throughout March, featuring art exhibits,
performances, and activities for youth and families. Registration for events is available online at honeywellarts.org or by calling
the Honeywell Box Office at 260.563.1102. Some events with free admission require registration due to limited space.

Next Generation: Youth Arts Month Exhibit – Clark Gallery in the Honeywell Center
The Honeywell Center’s Clark Gallery will come alive with the talent and imagination of students as they present works spanning
a variety of media and styles. The exhibit will be on display at the Clark Gallery in the Honeywell Center from March 1 through
March 30. The exhibits are available for viewing Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., before live shows, and during the
Youth Arts Showcase days.

Wabash County Honors Band & Choir – Fri., March 14 at 7:30 p.m., at the Honeywell Center
Wabash Valley Music Association presents this annual celebration of talented musicians and vocalists from Wabash County
high schools. Free admission, no ticket required. This concert is sponsored in part by the Howard M. Garver Wabash Valley
Music Association Endowment and the Larry and Anne (Garver) Curless Endowment for Honors Band & Choir.

A Grand Time – Sat., March 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Honeywell Center
A Grand Time will feature nearly 100 pianists, from student to professional, with as many as 24 playing simultaneously on 12
grand pianos for a marvel of musical virtuosity. This show is sponsored by Douglas C. Lehman P.C. and by Minda Lehman – in
memory of her mother, Velva Powell. Tickets start at $10.

10:45-11:15 a.m. – Metro North Elementary School, Grades K-2
11:15-11:45 a.m. – Wabash Middle School, Grades 5-6

Make It & Take It Projects:
The Honeywell Center Lobby will feature multiple craft stations! Stop by anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. for a free
hands-on craft activity. No registration necessary.

Workshops:
Art: 9:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. – Banjo-Pig-A-Palooza!
Create a whimsical musical pig! Join illustrator and children’s book author Bryan Ballinger (VeggieTales) for a playful workshop
using watercolors to bring your unique character to life. Recommended for ages 5+. Admission to the workshop is free; however,
registration is required due to limited space.

Art: 10:00 a.m. or 12:00 p.m. – Drawing with Scissors
Explore Henri Matisse’s vibrant world by creating a paper collage of geometric and organic shapes, inspired by his resilience as
a disabled artist and ability to turn challenges into stunning art. Recommended for ages 8+. Admission to the workshop is free;
however, registration is required due to limited space.

Music: 12:00 p.m. – Songwriting Made Simple: Craft Your Next Hit
Discover the art of songwriting with NYC singer-songwriters and Honeywell Arts Academy alumni Sofie Zamchick and Michael
Shofi. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced musician, this workshop will guide you through the process of creating a
song – from crafting lyrics to building melodies and grooves. Bring an instrument if you have one, or just bring yourself and your
curiosity! Sofie and Michael, who recently released their debut single “Kids Again,” will share their expertise and help you unlock
your creativity. Recommended for ages 12+. Admission to the workshop is free; however, registration is required due to limited
space.

11:15-11:45 a.m. – Musical Conexion: Manchester Elementary School, Dual Language Immersion Program, Grades 2-3

Musical Conexion is a monthly bilingual educational enrichment program provided through Honeywell Arts in Education, which
enhances motor skills and cognitive development through music while promoting empathy and cultural appreciation.
Musical Conexion is made possible to students at LH Carpenter Early Learning Center and Manchester Elementary School by
Honeywell Arts In Education with funding from the Accessibility Grant awarded by the Community Foundation of Wabash County
and the AWS Foundation, as well as additional funding provided by the Howard B. Liebengood Endowment Fund held at the
Community Foundation of Wabash County.

12:45-1:15 p.m. – OJ Neighbours Elementary, OJ Singers

Create your own framed mosaic art! Arrange colorful glass and tile pieces, bond them with heat, and take home a unique

the workshop is free; however, registration is required due to limited space.

Art: 10:00 a.m. or 12:00 p.m. – Colorful Watercolor Castles
Design vibrant castles using bold colors, geometric shapes, and unique structures. Inspired by Paul Klee’s style, this workshop
sparks creativity and fun! Recommended for ages 5+. Admission to the workshop is free; however, registration is required due to
limited space.
